SRMS is looking for a Jazz Band instructor.  A K-12 Music Certification is preferred but not required.

 

Jazz band puts an emphasis on teaching instrumental jazz music to 6th, 7th & 8th grade students.

 

The jazz band director is able to effectively demonstrate performance techniques and musicianship commensurate with the skills and needs of the students.  This requires professional performance experience and teaching knowledge of all jazz band instruments.

 

The jazz band director possesses a working knowledge of and teaching experience of the jazz musical genre.
The jazz band director is responsible for selecting repertoire, auditioning (when applicable), teaching, rehearsing, and conducting all music for group study and concert performances.  
The jazz band director will plan and post after-school and evening rehearsal dates, times, and locations as well as coordinate school and community performances.
