POSITION: Anticipated: Permanent & LTS French Teacher 
LOCATION: UDHS & SRMS
START DATE: August, 2024 & January 27, 2025
CERTIFICATION NEEDED: PA State Certification in French K-12

HOURS: 7.5 hours/day
SALARY: As per UDEA Contract

 

SUMMARY:

Primary functions include the classroom instruction of students following district curriculum and procedures.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports directly to the building Principal

• Works cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, staff, parents and students to perform job responsibilities as outlined


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. As outlined in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement

2. Salary (step/level placement) & Benefits are as described in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the supervisor and/or Principal.

  • Follow a continuous program of curriculum development.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  • Use relevant technology and materials to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Prepare classroom for class activities.
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
  • Be aware of new materials, methodologies, philosophies and innovation, using those which suit the needs of the individual student.
  • Assist in planning student activities, programs, and field trips.
  • Attend required meetings and complete required reports.
  • Consult with parents and other involved personnel concerning each student’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development
  • Create and maintain an environment conducive to learning.


QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary.   • Bachelor’s degree with valid PA certification
  • Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research
  • Proficiency in presentation of technology to enhance small and large student group information & demonstration sessions.
  • Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with professional contacts

 

Qualified candidate will be required:

  • to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
  • to talk and hear
  • sit and occasionally be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • have specific vision abilities, to include close vision, color vision, and the ability
  • to adjust focus
  • have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • FBI – Fingerprint check
  • Approved physical to be free from Tuberculosis
