POSITION TITLE: Food Service General Worker

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Food Service General Worker assists in providing quality food and service to students in a quick and pleasant manner.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- The Food Service General Worker reports directly to the Kitchen Manager
- Works cooperatively with administration, supervisors, staff, parents and students to perform job responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The Work Year shall consist of student days where meal service is required. Additional days may be added as determined by the Director of Food Services. Hours worked per day vary according to assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the Kitchen Manager and/or the Director of Food Services.
- Follow food safe practices and HACCP regulations in all assigned work.
- Run kitchen equipment as assigned.
- Serve meals and components according to recipes in an efficient and productive manner .
- Ensure dishes, smallwares, equipment and spaces are cleaned,sanitized and organized.
- Quickly and effectively enter transactions using our POS system
- Collection of cash and checks while maintaining accuracy in entries.
- Maintain inventory of selected items.
- The employee will be required to perform any other position-related duties requested by the supervisor.
- Employee must wear assigned uniform according to the department handbook
- Employee must maintain a proper level of personal hygiene and appearance
QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. - Prior food handling experience preferred
- Food Safety Program certificateand/or HACCP certificate preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions
- Ability to maintain pleasant, cooperative and positive work attitude and communication, while focusing on efficiencies and customer service
- Current Act 34, Act 151, FBI & Act 126 clearances
- Successfully completes required continuing education units based on federal regulation
- The person, while performing in this position, will be required to:
- Remain in a stationary position 50%
- Move about work area with ease
- Position self accurately and safely
- Have the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and or move up to 50 pounds
- Have specific vision abilities including close, color and adjust focus
- Handle hot and sharp objects
- Use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Have ability to communicate and converse with employees and students
- Be exposed to cafeteria/kitchen environmental conditions with severe temperature changes and moderate to loud noise levels
